Life In The Bourtons

The Two Villages are located a mere mile apart and 3 miles from the market town of Banbury where many shops and canalised dining is ….

Two Villages, One Community

The two villages, Great and Little Bourton is one parish which now has over 600 residents altogether and over 350 dwellings.

Community NEWS/Events

In spite of the fact that most amenities are based in the next village of Cropredy, we still have a busy community who organise events, mainly fundraising for local or national charities.

Clubs and Groups

We have a few clubs and groups who meet regularly and now a range of activities available at our new Community Hall.

Amenities

Although our amenities are limited there are plenty of  leisure, sports, arts and crafts opportunities in neighbouring Cropredy and Banbury.

The Church

Compared to most parishes our church is not that old but it does boast an unusual clock tower of which there are only 3 in the UK. It is part of the Shires Edge Benefice, so named because we border two other counties.

Village History

Much has been written about the history of the parish and the British History site covers a lot of it.  Many families living in the parish today have ancestors who lived here in the early 1800s. Find out more about the village history, the church history and the village hall’s history.
