Thank you to all those who attended our Community Crime Prevention meeting at the Village Hall this evening. We were pleased to welcome three Thames Valley police officers from the Banbury Neighbourhood Watch team, and two Cherwell District Community officers who provided some ideas for us on how to protect ourselves and our property.
Every neighbourhood in the Thames Valley area has a dedicated neighbourhood policing team who work together with the local community and partners to: reduce crime and incidents, bring more offenders to justice, protect the vulnerable and tackle violence against women and girls and improve victim service and public confidence.
Neighbourhood policing teams are led by senior police officers and include police officers, Police Community Support Officers (PCSOs), police staff, police support volunteers and the Special Constabulary.
They aim to make communities safer through an approach focussed on visibility, engagement, problem solving and community resilience.
You can receive regular updates on local information and incidents in or around our area by signing up to Thames Valley Alert.
There will be more news in the next news post from Ian Cooper who has taken up the role of Neighbourhood Watch coordinator. Thank you to all those who have volunteered so far to complete the team.
