Friends of All Saints
‘The Friends’ are volunteers – there is no need to attend Church to be involved – who help to raise money for the maintenance and conservation of the Church and Clocktower. Funds are raised through activities e.g. December raffle or via events such as the Big Breakfasts and the summer Strawberry Fayre. We welcome ideas, help and support from anyone interested in caring for the iconic ‘centre piece’ of our lovely village and community. For your information here are our terms of reference
Bourtons’ Big Breakfasts are now so popular and are held twice a year under normal circumstances. The food is provided by local suppliers and cooked by the experienced ‘Friends of the Church’ chefs.
Churchyard Tidy: watch out for dates – ‘more hands make light work’ – bring your gardening gloves, trowel and secateurs and spend a couple of hours tidying up around the churchyard and filling the brown bins. “On behalf of the residents of the Bourtons’ the Friends of All Saints are very grateful to John Nicholls Building & Plumbing Merchants for their kind donation of gravel to help improve the appearance of the Church yard. Contributions such as this really do help to make a difference – thank you.”
Food Bank – there is a collection point in the Church; please feel free to call in and leave your donations. Alternatively, drop them to Gina at Greenslade, Crow Lane, GB. Gina will arrange for items left at Church or at her home to be taken to the People’s Church in Banbury.
Currently the Friends are raising funds for the refurbishment of the Clock Tower and you can read all about the project and its progress so far HERE.
The Church is open daily during British Summer Time.
