Thames Water works in Southam Road to the junction of Chapel Lane Little Bourton

Hello, I’m Amie Longhurst from Thames Water and I’m writing to let you know that we’ll soon be starting work in Southam Road, the junction of Chapel Road, this is to replace your water pipes so we can give you a more reliable service. Our delivery partner for the work will be Morrison Water Services, who will be carrying out this essential work on our behalf. Our site team will be wearing Thames Water personal protective clothing.

When we’re working

Phase One will commence from Monday 17 February 2025 until Friday 21 March 2025. Our working hours will be Monday to Friday 8am to 6pm and Saturdays’ 9am to 1pm. If this changes, we’ll let you know in advance.

How you’re affected

  • Our engineers will be setting up a temporary road closure for a small section of the road at the top of Chapel Road to enable the team to carry out the required work. A diversion route will be signposted for access where applicable. Once we have completed the works within the road closure this will be opened with multi-way temporary traffic lights.
  • The bus stops on either side of Southam Road within the road closure will be suspended whilst our works are ongoing, the bus company will advise of any temporary bus stops.
  • Please be mindful of the signage and the workers whilst driving through the works.
  • If we need to turn off your water supply, we will notify you in writing in advance of any isolations planned.

Please be careful when walking/driving and cycling through our work areas, you may experience delays when machines are in use, please be patient with the site teams and adhere to all the signage. We will fill in holes and put any verges back to how we found them. If we’re unable to, due to the weather, for example, we’ll return at a later date.

We apologise for any inconvenience you may experience, and we’ll do everything we can to keep noise and disruption to a minimum.
